Dear God, I am going to cut to the chase.
I am not the praying type but as you have probably heard today it is Election Day.
This must be a busy day for you, second only to Christmas or perhaps the Super Bowl?
So look, the division in our country has me and all my friends on edge.
And to be frank, some of your followers really frighten me.
In fact, your people have me so scared, I’m practically on my knees while talking to you.
Talk about a cold day in hell. Shoot, if that isn’t proof that climate change exists, what is?
And speaking heat, apparently scripture says the Devil is the “Father of all lies” but it appears Trump is giving him a run for his money.
Here’s thing, I thought your followers were supposed to “love one another,” and that by their actions others would know they are Christ followers?
I mean, if that is the standard, most of my LBGTQ+ friends act more like Christ followers than so-called Christians.
What is more, the one they are actually choosing to follow doesn’t appear to understand the concept of love.
For example, I have heard my Christian friends talk about the Fruits of the Spirit…
What I am dying to know is which “Fruit” is Trump known for? Is it love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness or self-control?
You tell your people “love your neighbor as yourself” so why doesn’t this love include our hispanic neighbors to the south?
And what about the Christian Right who tout the sanctity of life but for some reason that belief doesn’t include the sanctity of life for women.
You tell your people that whatever they do for the “least of these” they do for you. If you don’t mind me saying, they are not doing much to boost your brand.
Although I guess thanks to them, there is world of non-believers gathering today in your name.
Talk about a miracle.
It sure would be something if the prayers of a bunch of non-believers end up saving the world from the so-called Christians?
If that happens I guess maybe there is a God and he has a sense of humor after all!
Well, so I don’t know how these prayers things are supposed to end but I guess you do so.
Thanks and uh, peace out.
